| Huckleberry at Priest Lake
Cradled in the protective arms of the Selkirk Mountains and fed by their melting snow. Priest Lake is nature`s perfect example of where the forest brushes the sky. This Treasure of the Panhandle is the most secluded of a series of three lakes that run through this uniquely beautiful area of Idaho.
Priest Lake was a summer hunting and fishing ground for Native Americans in the inland northwest. Early in this century the lake tempted men into the surrounding mountains searching for silver, copper and nickel. The beaches and forests inspired a silent film star to be one of the first to attempt filming on location, bettering the industry by setting new standards for the humane treatment of animals in movies. Jesuit priests embraced this sanctuary for their religious retreats and so the name...Priest Lake.
